Former Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command; Former U.S. Ambassador to the ROK
Adm. Harry Harris is a former Commander of the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and a former U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Korea (July 2018-January 2021). Prior to his appointment as ambassador, he served for 40 years in the U.S. Navy, retiring in June 2018. His last assignment was as Commander of the U.S. Pacific Command (now the U.S. IndoPacific Command). He was awarded the Republic of Korea’s Tong-il Order of National Security Merit and the Gwanghwa Order of Diplomatic Merit.
