Former Second Vice Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Republic of Korea
Ms. Kang Insun is the former Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea. Prior to this role, she was the Secretary to the President for International Public Relations and held the position of the Presidential Spokesperson. Before transitioning into public service, Ms. Kang had a career in journalism at The Chosunilbo, where she served in key roles, including Editor of the World News Desk, member of the Editorial Board, and Deputy Managing Editor for Digital Contents and Diplomacy. She also served as the Washington, D.C. Bureau Chief and as a war correspondent during the Iraq War in 2003. She is the author of The Leadership Code (Woongjin Knowledge House, 2008), Harvard Style (Woongjin Knowledge House, 2007), and Work Like Hillary, Win Like Condi (Woongjin Knowledge House, 2006). She was also a columnist and interviewer, hosting TV interview programs with prominent figures such as Kang Insun Live and Kang Insun’s Insight. Ms. Kang holds a B.A. and M.A. in International Relations from Seoul National University and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School.
