Chairman, United States Studies Centre, University of Sydney
The Hon. Arthur Sinodinos AO is the Chairman of the United States Studies Centre (USSC) at the University of Sydney. He also serves as chairman, a board member, and a trusted adviser to corporate and non-profit enterprises, and is an officer in the Order of Australia in recognition of his service to politics through the executive function of government, to the development of economic policy and reform, and to the Greek community. He was most recently Australia’s Ambassador to the United States and was previously a Senator in Australia’s Federal Parliament (2011-2019). Mr. Sinodinos also served in senior ministerial roles, including Assistant Treasurer, Cabinet Secretary, and Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science. He was for nine years Chief of Staff to Australia’s second-longest serving Prime Minister, the Hon. John Howard AC. Earlier in his career, he was a senior official in the Australian Treasury and worked at Goldman Sachs and the National Australia Bank. Mr. Sinodinos is an honours graduate in Economics and has honorary doctorates in Letters and Business from the University of Newcastle and the University of Sydney.
