Panel Description:

Korea has been transformed after 80 years, but North Korea’s nuclear shadow stands in the way of reaching these new horizons. North Korea’s nuclear arsenal, along with its advancing delivery systems, are growing rapidly. North Korea is using these capabilities as a coercive tool. Despite efforts to strengthen the ROK-U.S. extended deterrence, debates over the redeployment of U.S. tactical nuclear weapons and South Korea’s indigenous nuclear armament have intensified. What strategies can effectively deter further escalation and ensure stability on the Korean Peninsula amid North Korea’s growing nuclear threat?
