On Tuesday, May 20, 2014, the ASEAN and Oceania Studies Program at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies hosted the 3rd Asan-Asia:NZ Dialogue with the Asia New Zealand Foundation. The track-II dialogue is an annual meeting between experts from Korea and New Zealand.

The New Zealand delegation was led by Sec. John McKinnon, Executive Director of the Asia New Zealand Foundation and former New Zealand Secretary of Defense, and included scholars from the University of Wellington and Canterbury. This year’s dialogue covered a wide range of topics affecting both countries, including political and security dynamics in East Asia, multilateral institution-building, and the role of great powers such as the United States, China, and Russia in shaping regional politics. The dialogue examined Korean and New Zealander perspectives on the changing regional landscape how the two countries can better cooperate and coordinate in advancing their interests on the international stage.

Date/Time: Tuesday, May 20, 2014 / 10:00 - 17:00
