The Asan–Europe Policy Dialogue was held from Thursday, November 27 to Tuesday, December 2, 2025, across London and Brussels. The dialogue was conducted in cooperation with leading European research institutions, including Chatham House, the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), and the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). Through in-depth exchanges with experts from these institutions, the dialogue explored key issues related to European and Korean Peninsula security as well as shifts in the international order.
(1) Asan–Chatham House Policy Dialogue
On Friday, November 28, 2025, the Asan Institute for Policy Studies co-hosted the Asan–Chatham House Policy Dialogue in London, United Kingdom, together with Chatham House. Foreign and security policy experts from both sides discussed the security situations on the Korean Peninsula and in the Middle East, and examined the United Kingdom’s strategic role and future directions for international cooperation under the theme: “Security Across Regions: The Korean Peninsula, the Middle East, and the UK’s Strategic Role”

(2) Asan–International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) Policy Dialogue
The Asan Institute delegation participated in the Asan–IISS Policy Dialogue held on Friday, November 28, 2025, in London, United Kingdom. Co-hosted by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies and the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), the dialogue was held under the theme: “Defense and Security in a Connected World: Insights from Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.” Experts from both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on key issues, including: the intersection of European and Indo-Pacific security, the interactive dynamics of China–Russia–North Korea threats, Taiwan pre-crisis scenarios and their implications for the Korean Peninsula, structural opportunities for ROK–UK and ROK–Europe defense and technology cooperation, and the sustainability of alliance systems amid U.S. domestic political variables.

The Asan Institute delegation participated in the 2025 Asan–CSDS Policy Dialogue held on Monday, December 1, 2025, in Brussels, Belgium. The dialogue was co-hosted by the Asan Institute for Policy Studies and the Centre for Security, Diplomacy and Strategy (CSDS) at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), under the theme: “Europe’s Changing Security Landscape and Implications for the Indo-Pacific region.” Foreign and security policy experts from both sides held broad discussions on key issues, including: Europe–Indo-Pacific security linkages, interactions among China–Russia–North Korea threats, Taiwan and Korean Peninsula crisis scenarios, potential cooperation in defense, technology, and supply chains, and the durability of alliances and partnership frameworks.
