▶ 제14회 중앙글로벌포럼 (14th J-global Forum)
Scholars and journalists from around the world will gather at the J-Global Forum in Seoul for two days starting Sunday.
The international conference, sponsored by the JoongAng Ilbo and the Yumin Cultural Foundation, will take place at the Shilla Hotel. The event will be the 11th of its kind.
Keynote speakers of the forum are Representative Eni Faleomavaega, Chairman of the U.S. House Asia-Pacific Sub-committee; Representative Chung Mong-joon of Korea’s Grand National Party; Wang Jisi, Dean of the School of International Studies at Peking University; Yasuhisa Shiozaki, a lawmaker from Japan’s Liberal Democratic Party; Yoichi Funabashi, Editor-in-Chief and columnist of Japan’s Asahi Shimbun; and Kenzo Fujisue, a lawmaker from Japan’s Democratic Party.
About 30 experts and journalists from seven countries will participate in the discussions on the theme “New Asia: America’s Role.” The forum will explore the expansion of the role of Asian nations such as South Korea, China and Japan in the international community and the subsequent changes in U.S. policies.
English will be the official language of the conference.
