Dr. Ben Forney is a non-resident fellow at the Asan Institute for Policy Studies. His work focuses on economic and industrial security issues and the impact of emerging technologies on geopolitics. He is a long-time advisor for companies and governments and is the founder of Lazlo Intelligence, a database-driven consulting firm. He is a frequent commentator and contributor to international media outlets. His latest work includes “Europe Could Be Supporting Russia’s War via ‘Seven Sons’ Partnerships” (The Jamestown Foundation), “Changing South Korea’s Espionage Law is Good for Business” (Korea Economic Institute of America), and “South Korean Industrial Security Policy: A Review of Commercial Espionage Legislation and Institutional Structures” (Journal of International and Area Studies). He has a Ph.D. in International Studies from Seoul National University, and his dissertation focused on Chinese state-sponsored industrial espionage in U.S. and South Korean technology sectors.
